Frequently Asked Questions

We have put together a range of the most frequently asked questions about the way we operate and arrangements for buying a Cat® engine or parts from Goldpower Diesel Services.
 

1. What are the advantages of buying from Goldpower ?
You will be dealing with experienced industry professionals from a long established Company who have sold hundreds of new and reconditioned engines manufactured by Caterpillar over many years with many repeat sales from satisfied customers. (top)


2. Do you own the engines or are you a broker or middleman ?
Most of the engines listed for sale are ours or we have an agreement to purchase when the engine is available. We do not purchase every engine offered so occasionally there may be a small number of engines on consignment to take advantage of our marketing and contacts in the industry - but we do own most of what we sell. (top)


3. What warranty is available on engines you sell ?
Each engine is different depending on the type and condition of the engine in question so Warranty must necessarily vary.. Some engines (e.g. New, Surplus or low hours) may carry Full Cat Warranty or remaining part thereof. Others have warranty as agreed upon at the time of sale or no warranty. We are happy to discuss this important issue with the purchaser. (top)


4. How accurate are the descriptions of the engines listed ?
The descriptions are as accurate as we can make them and are to the best of our knowledge. Engines are test run and checked and information given to us by previous owner is checked out as far as possible. Caterpillar service records are checked if available for any additional information .

Wherever possible photographs are provided as they are very helpful to allow you view the actual engine and attachments. (top)


5. Can I visit your premises to see the engine and/or hear it running ?
Certainly, You would be most welcome. Please give us a little notice so we can prioritise work, have appropriate staff available and make the necessary arrangements for you. (top)


6. Can I request a third party to check over the engine at your premises ?
Yes, but again please notify us beforehand ( as above). (top)


7. What is the best freight arrangement?
We can arrange freight or you can arrange it yourself. By all means obtain a freight quote (ex our works) from your freight Company, but why not ask us for a quote also and compare the pricing. If our quote is preferred, the freight cost would be added to our invoice to you for payment. (top)


8. If I am interstate or overseas and wish to visit, how do I find Goldpower ?
See the "How to find us" page for details and map of our location.

The Sunshine Coast Airport (domestic with daily jet flights from Sydney and Melbourne) is virtually next door to our premises.

Alternatively we can arrange to meet you at Brisbane Airport or your Brisbane accommodation and transport you to our premises and back to the Airport or your accommodation. We are located in a seaside international tourist area with plenty of local accommodation to suit all budgets. (top)
